Ivory Kettle was made with most of the same instruments and tools that Rambler was. I know that I was interested in working with some harsher textures and negotiating a balance between noise and melody on some of the tracks. At the time I was really taken with the music of Axolotl and others who were creating work that was gauzy and dreamy but also forceful. I tried to incorporate that approach into this record and while I think it's inconsistently successful, the highs are still high for me.
